Tourism Village in Central Java Indonesia - Central Java has many interesting attractions. The tourist attraction is located in the countryside as a national tourist village. The villages were selected based on assessment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The uniqueness of the village is a tourist attraction for the tourists, both domestic and from abroad. This appeal, supported also by the friendliness of its people, culture pristine areas, and green natural beauty. Some of the tourist village include:

  • Pekalongan Municipality - Kauman Batik Village
Kauman Batik Village is located in Kauman village, Pekalongan district, East of Pekalongan city. Almost of its local people produce batik home industry and canting (instrument of painting batik). Another attraction of the village is Al Jami' great mosque, built in 1852. This great mosque is one of the cultural heritage which remained preserved up to now. Terbang Genjring and Simtudduror also is one of unique art and culture in the form of religious music.
  • Banjarnegara Regency - Dieng Kulon Tourism Village
Dieng Kulon Tourism Village is located in Batur district at an altitude 2093 above sea level. Dieng Kulon has an area of approximately 337.846 Ha with the dominant landscape is rolling hills, agricultural area and protected forest area. Various tourist attractions can be found in Dieng Kulon, such as mountainous scenery, the crater/lake, arts and cultural attractions, Hindu temples.   • Magelang Regency - Candirejo Tourism Village
The village is situated in Borobudur D istrict , approximately 2.5 K m from Borobudur Temple. The m ost attractive thing about this village is the uniqueness that can never be found anywhere else. Visitors can learn about village's traditional culture, and all about the villagers way of live which is totally different from people in a big city.   • Surakarta Municipality - Kampong of Batik Laweyan
Batik is a traditional art has been preserved by local people of Laweyan since long time ago. Therefore, the village of Laweyan is known as kampong 'Juragan Batik'. Many Batik showrooms in this village, they are served as one of shopping areas which is pretty interesting to visit. Laweyan has become the center of the batik industry since the era of Pajang Kingdom in 1546. As a cultural heritage area, the location has historical sites, among which are: Laweyan Mosque, Tomb of Laweyan (Tomb of Ki Ageng Henis, the precursor of King Mataram), former home of Ki Ageng Henis and Sutowijoyo / Panembahan Senopati, former Laweyan Market, Langgar Merdeka, Langgar Makmoer, and the house of H. Samanhoedi (Founder of Islamic Trade Unions). Laweyan is also famous with its typical building design and environmental conditions. Laweyan community residential architecture is generally influenced by Javanese traditional elements, Europe (Indische), China, and Islam. These buildings are equipped with a high fence or a 'fortress' which causes the formation of narrow alleys.

            Kampong of Batik Kauman

Kauman formerly called Pakauman is an ancient village which has a distinctive art and culture, such as batik, art of tambourine and gamelan. With houses of ancient Javanese architecture (Joglo), or Dutch colony, even a mix between Javanese and Dutch architecture what makes this Kampong Batik Kauman as one of unique tourist destination. Kampong Kauman was a batik supplier for Palace and Solo municipality. This can be seen from the house design which has a workshop and showroom. Ancient pattern is typical motif of this Batik. The tourists can sightsee and get a variety of batik products in the showroom located in Kampung Kauman.
  • Sragen Regency - Kliwonan Batik Tourism Village
Clustering the Batik industry in the village of Kliwonan and Pilang, in the sub-district of Masaran by district government, Sragen, has been subsequently developed to be tourist area with the brand mark “Kliwonan Batik Tourism Village”. The area development is performed with sustainable agro tourism approach emphasiz ing on the empower ment of the local residents, supporting their economic potency, uniqueness, local sensibility and also paying attention to the ecological balance. There are several activities offered to visitors, among which are: high quality Batik with affordable price, 3 - hours batik , pottery , and farming process learning, culinary experience on the typical cuisine of the village, exploring the village, outdoor photography, festival of batik village (between August to November - conducted annually). Besides batik, the visitors can also buy various souvenirs, typical handicraft from the Kliwonan village, e.g. hand made bags made from batik patchwork, wallet, decorative pillow, blanket, pottery, vase, pan, bird cage , etc. Going down to the village street in the morning, biking in the middle of rice field while breathing fresh and pollution-free air is fun and healthy activity . I f the weather is nice, silhouette of Mount Merapi and Merbabu placed on golden light from the rising sun, can been seen from a distance. In one of the street corners in the village – from the height, it appears the flow ing Bengawan Solo River. Activities of traditional sand miner in the river with dozens of bamboo rafts become an interesting attraction. At dusk, it becomes a nice place to enjoy sunset.
  • Sukoharjo Regency - Wirun Tourism Village
Wirun Tourism Village is located in Mojolaban district, just 1 km from Solo city. Wirun is well known as Javanese Gamelan producing area. Beside gamelan, people of Wirun also produce paper puppet, keris, roof-tile, wooden batik, and bonsai plants. Visitors can enjoy traditional art and culture such as ketoprak, jatilan, and karawitan.
  • Banyumas Regency - Ketenger Tourism Village
Ketenger tourism village is located at the village of Ketenger , Baturraden district, Banyumas Regency. Beside its natural beauty, Ketenger tourism village also has several ancient heritages, some of them are Lori Railroad and re servoir which was the Dutch heritage during its colonialization. All of the sites now are changing its function into intersting water tourism object. There are also traditional art performances that can be good options during your stay in Banyumas District. Candirenggo tourism village is located at Dukuh Mandayana, Ayah district. There is petruk cave which has has three stories in the form of beautiful stalagmite and stalactite. Further, there are many houses made of wooden and traditionally Javanese stylized, joglo.
